About Callie
I am a guitar tutor with over 2 years of experience and a BM in Studio Music and Jazz (Guitar Principal). I teach Electric, Acoustic, Classical, and Bass Guitar for students interested in film and video game scoring.
Lessons focus on sound design, thematic development, and creating atmospheric textures. I guide students in using digital audio workstations (DAWs) to enhance compositions.
I take a student-centered approach, customizing lessons for youth and adults. Students explore composing, layering, and recording for cinematic music. Creativity, technique, and expressive playing are emphasized in every session.

My teaching approach focuses on lead guitar mastery and expressive soloing. I guide students in improvisation, phrasing, blues/rock techniques, bends, and vibrato. Lessons emphasize both technical skill and creative freedom to develop a personal soloing voice.
We explore scales, modes, and patterns that form the backbone of memorable solos. Exercises in note choice, dynamics, and phrasing help make solos musical and distinctive. Improvisation fosters creativity and confidence.
I support learners ranging from jazz enthusiasts to teenage rock players. Lessons include ear training, stylistic analysis, and melodic development. Students learn to craft solos on the fly.
Every session combines skill-building, expression, and musicality. Feedback is continuous and personalized. Together, we refine your lead playing and make improvisation natural and exciting.
