About Hugo
Hello!, my name is Hugo, I am a passionate, creative, and versatile photographer; developer of visual narrative and storytelling across different subjects and styles, with more than 20 years in the trade. Expert in film, alternative techniques, and darkroom processes; as well as digital ones. I’d love to work with you towards your photography goals. Sharing and advancing my knowledge is one of the primary drivers in my professional path. I am an experienced music photographer, designer of experimental cameras and implements, and restorer of traditional technologies in conjunction with new ones. I am educated in film and print scanning for archival digitization, digital photo-editing and photo-managing software; specialized in free, open source alternatives and their workflows.

My teaching strategy is to provide with the knowledge and resources to achieve the photographs and style that you want. Learning through practical, relevant examples in which the technical knowledge you acquire will become purposeful.
Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced photographer, we will create a personalized plan to develop your style and technique into the amazing photographs you have visualized. I will be able to help you with a wide range of subjects from camera usage, exposure control, composition, film, and digital tools; to developing your own visual narrative and storytelling.

Hugo is an amazing photographer who mainly works with analog, which really helps you understand photography on a deeper level, way beyond just pressing buttons or memorizing settings. He’s hands-on and involved in every part of the process, approaching it with the focus and care of a chemist, but without ever being intimidating. Don’t be fooled by his serious side, he’s patient, respectful, and genuinely curious, and he shares all his knowledge in a way that makes both the technical and creative sides of photography click.
Hugo is an excellent teacher, he is a serious proffessional, also a formal and thorough individual that always goes the extra mile in connecting with others through his passion.
