About Arman
I am a 31-year-old musician from South Portland, Maine, and my own music draws from nature, classical and impressionist composers, jazz, and traditional Pashtun music. By blending critical elements of each, I try to create a sound that is both innovative and deeply rooted in personal and cultural expression. I also love to teach and always feel inspired by my students.
I can teach from experience, as I've been playing for 27 years. I've recently performed at Jazz @ Lincoln Center NYC, House of Blues Boston, the Charles River Jazz Festival, and the Institute of Contemporary Art. I studied both classical and jazz at Berklee, and am well versed in musical theater as well. I have arranged for and performed with artists from OG casts of Hamilton, Jagged Little Pill, Newsies, Six, and others. I also have an upcoming tour in Japan.

I work very individually with each student, and love to work on material from basic to advanced. Lessons are for all skill-levels and ages, you just have to love music and we will be able to do something great together! I'm a responsive teacher with a relaxed teaching style. I can do remote and in-person lessons at Berklee or around the Greater Boston area.
I'm excited to work on what you are struggling with, whether it's technique, music theory, jazz, composition, classical rep, or anything else! We can work on voicings, improvisation, touch, sight reading, confidence in performing, or I can guide you with a specific curriculum. Even if you are just starting out! :)
