About Sophia
I am currently a college student studying computer science with a strong background in math. I am also a three-time AIME qualifier and Math Prize for Girls Invitee.
8 years ago, I began tutoring one-on-one to individual students on a variety of math topics. In more recent years, I have taught an SAT class to a group of students, as well as taught Algebra 2, Precalculus, and Java at a local education center.

I offer a personalized teaching method focusing on understanding the fundamentals and mindset of math, rather than memorizing formulas and methods. As a tutor, I am patient and understanding.
A typical lesson plan depends heavily on the subject, but will always begin by solidifying the foundations and filling in any gaps before moving to more difficult concepts.
Lessons are aimed for middle to high school students, and may be standard in-school curriculum (Algebra, Geometry, Calculus) to competition focused math, such as AMC 8 and AMC 10 material.
