What I value in a potential tutor is their ability to explain problems in a logical, easy-to-understand way. An intimidating math equation, or a difficult programming assignment can seem daunting at first, but there is always an effective way to break the problem up into simple pieces. I will be the one to break your problems up in easy-to-understand bites, so that you might be able to do the same in the future to find your own solutions.

Typically, I will request beforehand some details about an assignment. This way, I can study up on what the teacher wants the student to learn from the assignment. Depending on the subject, I will then create a similar problem, and draft up a guide on how the student might solve the problem through different angles. With these pieces put together, I will then guide the student through their issues, and have them solve it themselves without directly giving the answer away. What I put importance on is the student directly learning and growing their own knowledge pool, rather than using me as a pool of free answers.
