About Riley
My interest in programming began when I first explored how computers can perform complex tasks by following a sequence of instructions. I was fascinated by the idea that a programmer could design software that performs calculations, processes data, and helps people complete tasks more efficiently. This curiosity encouraged me to pursue a Bachelor’s in Computer Science.
During the past 11 years, I have taught programming to students who were learning coding for the first time as well as learners who wanted to improve their technical skills. Through teaching, I discovered that many beginners feel overwhelmed when they first see programming syntax and technical terms. Because of this, I focus on explaining programming logic clearly and guiding students through each step of writing a program.
My teaching approach encourages experimentation and practice. I motivate students to write code regularly, explore different programming solutions, and gradually build their confidence as programmers. I enjoy helping learners discover that programming is not only a technical skill but also a creative way to solve problems.

My computer programming lessons are designed to help students understand how computers follow instructions written in programming languages. Programming is not only about writing code but also about learning how to solve problems logically and organize solutions step by step. In my lessons, I explain programming ideas in a simple way so students can gradually develop confidence in writing their own programs.
Lessons usually begin with the basic concepts that every beginner needs to understand. Students learn about variables, data types, operators, and how programs process information. Once these foundations are clear, learners begin exploring control structures such as conditional statements and loops that allow programs to make decisions and repeat tasks. Intermediate learners also work with functions and structured programming methods that help organize larger programs.
As students progress, they begin solving practical coding problems and writing small programs that demonstrate real-world applications. Programming becomes easier when learners understand the logic behind each line of code and practice regularly. My goal is to help students develop problem solving abilities and logical thinking so they can write clear and effective programs independently.
