About Merrick
My interest in programming began when I first discovered how computer applications are created through structured coding. I was fascinated by how lines of code could build systems that perform useful tasks and simplify everyday work. This interest encouraged me to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and later complete a Master’s in Software Engineering.
Over the past 8 years, I have taught programming to students who wanted to learn coding for academic study, career development, and personal projects. Through teaching experience, I noticed that many beginners feel uncertain when they first encounter programming syntax and logic. Because of this, I focus on explaining concepts clearly and guiding students through coding exercises step by step.
My teaching approach emphasizes patience, structured explanation, and practical experimentation. I encourage students to test ideas, analyze how their code works, and learn from mistakes during the programming process. Helping learners build confidence in coding and develop strong problem-solving skills is one of the most rewarding aspects of my teaching work.

My computer programming lessons are designed to help students understand how software is built using logical instructions and structured coding techniques. Programming allows people to create applications, automate processes, and solve complex problems through technology. In my lessons, I guide students step by step so they can understand how programming languages work and how different parts of a program interact with each other.
Lessons often begin with the basic principles of coding such as variables, data types, and simple input and output operations. Students learn how programming languages translate human instructions into commands that computers can execute. Understanding these basic ideas helps learners develop confidence in writing simple programs and recognizing how code controls computer behavior.
As students continue learning, lessons expand into topics such as loops, functions, arrays, and object-oriented programming concepts. Students practice writing programs that solve practical problems and learn how to identify and correct errors through debugging techniques. My goal is to help learners develop strong coding foundations and logical thinking skills that support future learning in software development.
