My methodology depends on the student’s needs and learning style. However my teaching style is based on motivating students to think for themselves, using everyday examples wherever possible. I start from topics the students are comfortable with and shift slowly towards more complex areas as they start understanding. To build student’s confidence I try alternation technique where I allow them to teach me what they know, as the field of communication involves a lot of research essays and exams, this gives the students a chance to explain things in a thorough and reasonable way. I continually ask them questions related to the topic to check their understanding. I don’t ask the students to memorize things. I don’t do their schoolwork for them. Yet, I assist them with understanding the problems.
