About Simone
Hi, I'm Simone! I have a BA (Philosophy) and a BSc (Genetics, Psychology). I tutor both high school and undergrad level and my specialty areas are Philosophy, Psychology and Biology (I also tutor years 7 - 10 Math and English, VCE Math General, VCE English and VCE Business Management). I have a huge passion for teaching, in particular I love to help students become more confident with the content and coursework. I have two bachelor degrees so you might say I LOVE to learn, and hopefully that passion rubs off on you! At the least I try to make studying FUN and tailor lessons to suit your interests and skillset.

Teaching Style: I hone in on the specific skills you need to help get your grades up - whether that be revision tactics, content comprehension, essay writing, text analysis, and so on. I break big tasks down into basic skills so that coursework feels less daunting.
Methodology: I empower you to feel confident in two big areas 1. adequately absorbing the material being taught and 2. understanding what the marker is looking for, and this guiding the work you produce. The former involves figuring out your learning style and tailoring my lessons accordingly. The latter involves understanding the curriculum as well as feedback you have received for past work, something many students struggle with.
My Background: I have a Bachelor of Science (Genetics, Psychology) and a Bachelor of Arts (Philosophy) so my knowledge base is broad - I can assist in most subject areas. I have tutored students at all levels of high school to undergrad and have helped not only improve grades, but more importantly, help my students feel more confident in their abilities and more efficient in how they study outside of our lessons, better preparing them for University.
