About Lane
My name is Lane, I graduated from Columbia University in 2018 with a BA in Media Studies and a 3.6 GPA. I have extensive experience writing, editing and proofreading academic and personal essays, and have years of experience working with students to develop these skills and improve their writing in preparation for college. I was accepted by Columbia, UCLA, UC Berkeley, UC San Diego NYU, and USC without much of a STEM background, primarily based on my written and oral skills. Hello!
I believe everyone has a strong voice and the capacity to channel it into a persuasive and compelling piece of writing, regardless of background or experience level. I work with my students to boil down the fundamental components of a strong essay, gain clarity on the students' goals with the piece, and develop basic persuasive writing and editing skills that they can take to future classes.
I work with middle and high school students, and can also work with students on personal essays for college applications.
