About Maria
I am originally from Colombia and have been living in Canada for over ten years. Spanish is my first language, and I love sharing it with others in a way that feels simple, friendly, and encouraging. I’m fluent in English and French as well, which helps me explain concepts clearly and support students at any level. I am a patient and understanding person, and I always try to make people feel comfortable when learning something new. I enjoy helping others build confidence, whether they are complete beginners or already have some knowledge and want to improve their skills. Outside of tutoring, I work as a graphic and UI/UX designer, so creativity, communication, and attention to detail are a big part of who I am. I bring that same approach to teaching, clear explanations, helpful examples, and a positive learning environment.

My goal as a tutor is to make Spanish feel approachable, natural, and enjoyable. I adjust each lesson to the student’s level and pace, whether they want to improve conversation, grammar, pronunciation, or simply feel more confident in everyday situations.
I am patient, friendly, and very attentive to each student's needs. Because I speak English and French fluently, I can explain concepts in the language the student feels most comfortable with. I also adapt my methods depending on how each person learns. Some students prefer speaking practice, while others benefit more from reading, structure, or guided exercises.
I always make sure students finish each lesson with something they understand clearly and can use right away.
