About Sonya
I am currently in my second year of college and am looking to graduate a year early. During high school, I had the best math teachers. They inspired me to work harder and enjoy the subject. Math became my favorite subject and was fun. Having a role model is essential to the understanding of math, that is what I am here to accomplish. I want to see all of my student achieve, and give them the confidence to do so.

Math is fun! And my goal as a tutor is to help all students view math in that way. I strive to help students understand concepts rather than memorization skills. This in turn will help with future applications not only in math, but in life. Creating a safe and positive environment is my priority with any student. I create a safe space for my students where they are free to as questions and engage. I adapt to the different learning styles of my students, whether it be visual, auditory or kinesthetic, my lesson plans are personalized to the individual to help cater their needs and what will help them learn the material in a faster more effective way.
