About Xylia
I am a Communications major but have always loved my math classes growing up. My family always joked that math was my first language. I was never officially a TA in my math classes but I would always end up helping the students around me to understand the material and sometimes I would be asked outside of the class room for help as well.
I started tutoring outside of school about 6 years ago and fell in love with it. One of the students I helped went from a straight F math student to getting B+ all by her self.

I approach each math topic a little differently because each type of math is favorable to different people. With that being said I do like to get to know how a person learns so I will sit with my students and watch them solve a couple of problems and will also talk with them a bit to figure out how much they understand about the topic. And I like to use the same method if I am the one teaching the subject from start to finish.

Details
First lesson is free because I would like to get to know the student and see if it is a good fit for the two of us to work together and if my teaching styles work for the student.
I would like to ask that if I am traveling more than 10 miles from my own home that you would be so kind to help with the gas 10-15miles away from me would be +$2; 15-20miles +$5. That is all and it would only be towards the gas.
Lastly, I am very flexible with cancellation but would like to know if you need to cancel at least 24hours before our scheduled time. If the cancellation is less than 24hours away from our scheduled time then I would appreciate at least half of the payment we agreed on for that meeting. Please and Thank you!
