About Carlos
I am a student at Nova Southeastern University's Fischler Academy of Education, the Fischler Academy is a premier program for education majors that involves a lot of hands-on experience and innovative teaching techniques within each course's curriculum.
As for teaching experience, I have tutored during high school, helping elementary-level students with their math and reading lessons. I also worked last summer at Camp Akeela as an Arts Specialist and Cabin Counselor, would be working in a classroom teaching kids different art lessons from origami to acrylic painting, as well as paper-mache.

- I like to connect well with my mentees, individualize their learning, and work with them to make lessons more enjoyable. I use a lot of visuals and apps, and if you need me to, I can give you practice problems to work on, or simply come up with any questions you might have about your homework and I will help you find a solution. I believe that learning math should not be just memorization of formulas, I'd rather have you understand the concepts for which each formula works. Lessons are given to students from 6-12 grades. In our first meeting, I'd like to get to know you and give you a quick quiz on the subject you need help on just to see your strengths and areas of improvement. I am very approachable, open-minded and I enjoy when students can actively discuss topics they are learning, so do not be afraid to ask questions or question a result :D it is all part of the learning process. I will include a lot of applications as I cannot mentor physically because of my class schedule, do not worry, it will most likely be just me sharing a whiteboard screen on ourvirtual meeting
