About Lauryn
I am a third-year college student, majoring in psychology at Long Beach City College. I have been mentoring and tutoring students since I was a senior in high school in 2015. My passions are writing: essays and poetry as well as drawing and painting. I have tutored at Lindberg Middle in Long Beach and currently tutor math and English to 4th and 6th-graders at Clinton Elementary in Compton.

My teaching method is first asking students what their goals are and having them write them down, we will also discuss what areas they struggle in and try to be as in-depth as possible so that I can get a good idea of how exactly to help them. In this way, I am holding them accountable for their role in their education. I also try to implement games and fun activities as much as I can so that the student doesn't get overwhelmed or bored with the work. I want them to know that learning can be fun and rewarding!
