About Alexander
I will be honest - while I am not new to the working world, I have not taught percussion professionally before. I have taught elements of it, and of music theory, to fellow college students while at school, however, and I am studying these concepts closely in university. I play in the orchestra, percussion ensemble, and have performed recreationally in multiple bands, so I have experience in both academic and informal performance. Teaching music to others is one of the most exciting and fulfilling things I can think of. Playing and performing have acted both as a reprieve from and source of anxiety for me, and I will prioritize making folks I'm working with as relaxed as possible - this should be as fun as it is educational. I am also a member of the LGBTQ+ community and want people to know that they will be appreciated and respected however they show up.

If there is anyone wants to work with a younger guy who knows how it is to be a student nowadays, I've got you. And if you are just starting out on mallet percussion, drum set, or snare drumming, and/or are at an intermediate level with either of those last two, we can probably make some progress together, whether it relates to rhythm, technique, reading, musicality, confidence, or creative expression. I am a fan of meeting people where they are at, so lesson structure and content would be notably influenced by the desires of the student. I also do have a handful of practice techniques, books, tips, etc that have worked for me that I would try out with folks. I will learn from you as you learn from me.
