Seeking ambitious Honors and/or AP Biology high school students interested in working on an original research project involving bioinformatics, CRISPR design, recombinant DNA technology, and neurodegenerative disorders via my High School CRISPR Academy. Project is currently remote with weekly or bimonthly mentoring. The research can be presented at science fairs and our aim is to publish the research in scientific journals whenever possible. No research experience necessary, just a desire to learn and grow as scientists. If you're interested, please reach out for more details. THANK YOU!

I had the privilege of learning from Dr. Ryan Doonan for several years at UT Austin. He is one of the most down-to-earth, compassionate, and engaging teachers I have ever had. No matter how many times I struggled to grasp a concept, Dr. Doonan always took the time to patiently explain it again, ensuring I truly understood. His kindness, depth of knowledge, and dedication to his students make him an exceptional educator. Anyone who has the opportunity to learn from him is truly fortunate. I broke my heart that he left UT, but I'm glad that he has this new exciting opportunity! I can't recommended him enough!
I’ve known Ryan for several years and can vouch for his professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to work well with students.
He is detail-oriented, knowledgable, trustworthy, friendly, and a genuinely good guy. He is innovative with solutions, and very personable. It's clear that Ryan stands by his work, and I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone looking for a tutor.
I am a junior in high-school, and was in great need for a tutor. I found Ryan, and he provided outstanding support. My AP Biology has been confusing and hard to understand. Ryan helped me to understand science much more than I have ever in the past. He was very clear and easy to follow, and ever since I’ve recommended him to all of my friends.
Dr. Doonan was my physiology professor at St. Edwards. My favorite thing is he would lead these "xam cram" study sessions a couple of nights before the exam and we would get in groups and play this speaking/drawing/charades game to learn all the terminology and concepts. It was so fun and helpful! He's really great. I recommend him.
We connected with Ryan through UT. My youngest was worried about his AP Chem final and a friend of a friend suggested Dr Doonan. I’m so happy we found him. Ryan’s patience and ability to explain difficult material in a way my son could truly understand made all the difference. Not only did he ace the final, but his confidence and interest in science came back as well. Dr. Doonan truly cares about his students, and I can’t recommend him enough!
Ryan is a brilliant educator. I had him as my research professor in university, and I learned an invaluable amount of knowledge from him. He really took his time to explain the material throughly and was very approachable to come to for help. Ryan is a professor you can count on.
I had the privilege of working as a teaching assistant for Dr. Ryan when I was studying biology at the University of Texas at Austin.
He is an incredibly dedicated educator who takes great care in ensuring his students succeed. He explains complex concepts like physiology with clarity and detail made learning easy and engaging. He creates an environment where students feel comfortable asking for help.
His enthusiasm for the subject and commitment to his students make him an exceptional professor, and I wholeheartedly recommend him!Ryan has been tutoring me at the ACC Learning Lab in A&P for nursing students. He's really good at making confusing concepts make sense and helping me with practice exams. I highly recommend him if you need help with your classes!
Ryan is a really great teacher! He tutored my son in AP biology. Ryan is patient, very knowledgeable, and he tailors his teaching to the individual needs of students he works with. He was really able to assess my son’s unique learning style and work with him so he could best learn. He is also a good communicator and can work with students to inspire them and help them figure out career choices.
Dr. Doonan is awesome! He was my freshman BIO206L professor at UT. He's really down to earth and cares about his students. He's great at explaining difficult concepts. All the lab work we did in molecular biology made my upper division courses much easier. Definitely one of the best professors I had at UT. A+
