I have a degree in mathematics from Iowa State University and am certified to teach in the state of Iowa for grades 5-12. I have been through at least 80 hours of in-class experience and have completed my semester of student teaching.

I approach each topic with the student's baseline understanding and build from there. I prefer to take a more guiding approach in my lessons where I help a student figure out the steps themself. This approach both allows the student to explore the material and gives them the skill to solve future problems on their own.
