About Ruby
I am originally from Colorado, but I moved out to Southern California to attend the University of Redlands, a small school 2 hours East of L.A. Professionally, I am working toward my degree in environmental science. After college, my goal is to take everything I have learned to law school on my path to becoming an environmental lawyer.
When I am not studying or tutoring, I love staying active and being outdoors. You can usually find me playing basketball, heading to the beach, or spending quality time with my family and our adorable pup, Gus!

My approach is about all about being patient and centered on active learning. During a typical session, we will look at homework or a specific topic together and walk through a problem step by step to build confidence. After that, I create similar practice problems so students can really master the concept on their own. If there is no homework that day, we will just pick a general subject to brainstorm and practice together. Because everyone learns differently, my lessons are super structured and entirely tailored to whoever I am tutoring. I always adapt to each student's unique learning style and get creative with my methods to make confusing concepts finally click.
