About Ben
I have tutored both at a local math center and privately for a little over the past 4 years. My teaching and tutoring style have always been the same, and the students I have tutored have always had a positive review of their lessons with me.
Math has always been my favorite and best subject. I am majoring in aerospace engineering in college, and always took advanced classes through middle and high school. I also have experience working with younger kids as I have been a summer camp counselor for the past few years. I really enjoy helping students learn while also making math fun.

I typically ask the student how they prefer the lesson to go. What I find works best is spending the first half of the lesson doing homework (if there is any), and the rest doing review which I create that is on the topic the student wants/needs to learn more about.
I have a Socratic teaching style, meaning I like to lead the student in the right direction by asking questions that will get them there. This approach best helps the student learn on their own as opposed to me telling them the answers. It is also a great way to teach the student how they should approach similar questions.
