About Vivian
Hello! I am a board-certified MD pathologist with over 10 years of hands-on experience in clinical genomics and laboratory medicine.
Whether you are a medical student or resident preparing for an upcoming Grand Rounds presentation or Journal Club, an MPH or graduate student working on a research project, or a biotech professional seeking to better understand real-world laboratory concepts, I provide practical, individualized guidance grounded in years of scientific and clinical experience.
I can help you work through your clinical research project—whether it is an MPH capstone, medical school research project, literature review, Journal Club, clinical research presentation, manuscript, scientific poster, or other research-related assignment. My goal is not to do the work for you, but to help you understand the science, organize your thinking, interpret the literature and data, and communicate your conclusions clearly and confidently.
Over the course of my career, I have read, analyzed, and critically evaluated hundreds of medical journal articles and interpreted complex genomic reports. I know how challenging it can be to synthesize dense scientific literature and present complex findings clearly, especially under pressure.
I started this tutoring practice to help bridge the gap between scientific information and confident scientific communication for the next generation of physicians, scientists, and healthcare professionals.

My teaching philosophy is entirely practical, highly collaborative, and focused on high-stakes presentation mastery. I don't just teach you the science; I teach you how to present it flawlessly without fear of harsh attending evaluations.
How we will work together:
- Literature Dissection: We will break down your assigned journal article or case study line-by-line. I will teach you how to spot methodology flaws, interpret complex data tables, and extract the true clinical takeaways.
- If you are preparing for a presentation too, I will help with slide deck optimization: I will help you translate dense data into clean, visually impactful PowerPoint or Canva slides that tell a compelling story.
- The Attendings "Grill" Session: We will run mock presentations where I anticipate and ask you the exact, grueling questions senior attending physicians or program directors are likely to ask during your Q&A.
Note: I offer a complimentary introductory consultation for the first session so we can review your project and upcoming deadlines to map out a tailored strategy.
