About Harrie
I originally come from London and after graduating with first-class honours in theology for my undergraduate and in classics and historical linguistics and phonology for my masters, I lived for three years in Rome where I taught Latin and English at various universities and colleges as well as a large amount of intensive SAT preparation to private clients. Universities I have taught at include: the University of Leuven in Belgium, LUISS Guido Carli, The European University of Rome and the Rome University of Fine Arts. My clients have included a government-employed neurology professor, a ministerial economics advisor, a monseigneur in Vatican City, CEOs and one MP and minister in the Italian government. Overall I have about 8 years experience teaching in the British, American and Italian curricula. My experience with British students has mostly focused on GCSE and A level preparation for which the majority of my students achieve A grade or higher.

The techniques I utilise with students derive from both my academic background in linguistics but also my personal experience with efficiency in linguistic absorption: my main hobby is in fact language learning and I have come to acquire a knowledge of Greek, Italian, Spanish, French, German, Hebrew, Russian, Arabic and Sanskrit partially because I find it important to test the acquisitional and mnemonic techniques that I employ with students upon my own learning processes.
Aside from the academic effectiveness of my instructional methods, my teaching style focuses on cultivating a relaxed atmosphere while providing as much support and positive encouragement as possible; no subject is difficult if a teacher makes the student genuinely feel that it isn't difficult. More than anything else the principal key to my student's success is, however, that teaching is my life's great passion and something which I genuinely, truly enjoy; I will often work overtime if possible in order to ensure that my students reach and surpass their desired results. I constantly remind myself that my clients have taken the decision to hire me in order to achieve a specific goal; above all I am good at my job because I make their achievement of that goal my one and singular priority.
