About Lonnie
"Rosin dust dances in the air when I draw the bow across the string, an echo of my Italian training. Over 13 years of teaching, I have observed the distinct needs of the adult returner who seeks to reclaim their childhood technique. I focus on scales and arpeggios, double stops, and orchestral playing to restore fluency.
My practice emphasizes spiccato and staccato bowing along with precise intonation and shifting positions. Developing the ability to tune by ear and mastering classical repertoire brings a quiet, profound satisfaction to our rehearsals."

"Patience serves as the primary instrument for technical precision. Truthfully, the most difficult part of returning to the violin is reconciling the memory of your hands with their current state.
I utilize my Yale training to guide you through bowing technique, ensuring your movements remain fluid and unforced. We dedicate 8 sessions to refining posture and tone production.
These lessons integrate your goals with my 13 years of experience in the Italian tradition. I provide free bowing and posture reference notes after each lesson. The clarity gained from these written guides allows you to practice with confidence throughout the week. Returning to this instrument is a rewarding journey of deliberate refinement."
