About Catherine
I am somebody who has a deep passion for learning and a great appreciation for education, and I love to help students wherever I possibly can. I have a great enthusiasm for teaching and I really try to approach every lesson with high energy so to spark equal enthusiasm in my students. I am extremely passionate about both English and Classics and I have great flexibility between these two subjects, whether that be working with ancient texts in modernised translation, modern poetry, or even just working on exam technique and preparation. I aim to make every lesson as intriguing as possible, working steadily with the pace of my student and helping them to achieve their overall goal that they want to reach through our lessons together.

I am an experienced ESL teacher (English as a Second Language), so I am no stranger to having to dissect thoughts, ideas, and pieces of literature to make them more comprehensible for a variety of educational levels. As somebody who was diagnosed with dyslexia in their teenage years, I have compiled a multitude of learning approaches that make information more accessible and easier to understand. At GCSE level, I received grade 9 for both English Literature and Language, and later at A-Level I received A grades for English Literature and Classical Civilisation. I am available to teach from levels Key Stage 2 to A-Level. I aim to keep my lessons between 50mins-1hr, and I generally work remotely via online lessons.
