About Carlos
Carlos Giménez Martínez is a Spanish musician and virtuoso of classical saxophone whose commitment to perfection has earned him widespread recognition. Born in 1993 in Benimodo, Valencia, Carlos completed his higher studies in saxophone at the Salvador Seguí Conservatory of Music in Castelló under the guidance of Professor Jose Luís Garrido. He later pursued his studies in the Master of Classical Saxophone Performance at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, studying under the legendary saxophonist Arno Bornkamp. He is currently completing a second master's degree in saxophone at the Hanns Eisler University of Music in Berlin.
Throughout his young yet illustrious career, Carlos has collaborated with some of the world's most renowned orchestras and ensembles, including the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra of the Netherlands, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin German Symphony Orchestra, the Hanover State Opera, the Leipzig MDR Symphony Orchestra, and the Bremen Symphony Orchestra. Since 2023, Carlos has been the soprano saxophonist of the renowned Berlin saxophone quartet: Clair Obscur Saxophonquartett; a group with an extensive chamber music trajectory of over 20 years, solidifying Carlos as one of the most versatile saxophonists.
As a soloist, Carlos has been awarded in numerous international saxophone competitions, including the F. Decruck Saxophone Competition in Paris, the International Music Competition of Benidorm in Spain, the Wülzburg Saxophone Competition in Germany, and the first International Saxophone Competition of China, establishing him as one of the most talented and accomplished saxophonists of his generation. His musical talent has been celebrated both nationally and internationally.
Regarding his role as an educator, Carlos combines two teaching systems: on one hand, a more classical teaching system, such as his collaboration as a saxophone professor at the Rostock Conservatory of Music in 2023; and on the other hand, Carlos has his own saxophone studio, based in Berlin, where he teaches private lessons for all levels, both in-person and online.

- My teaching method is 100% tailored to the student. We discuss the goals that we want to achieve and we trace a plan together.
- There is not typical lesson plan in my lessons. All depends on what is our goal, our plan and what we want to do. There are not two students with the same characteristics.
- Honestly, what I think that sets me apart as a saxophone teacher is my passion towards the instrument and to be able to share my experience in concerts, lessons, masterclasses etc. Saxophone is my only and main job.
- The lessons are for all kind of levels and ages. I speak Spanish, Catalan, English and basic German.
