With over 2 years of competitive chess experience, including being the SGFI State Champion in 2020 and holding a FIDE rating of 1560, I bring both expertise and passion to my teaching. I am dedicated to helping each student build a strong foundation and improve their skills through personalized, patient, and clear instruction. My Approach as a Tutor:
I focus on creating a supportive and interactive learning environment tailored to each student’s skill level and goals. My teaching method breaks down complex chess concepts into simple, understandable parts, using a mix of explanation, demonstration, and practice.

I use real-game analysis, tactical puzzles, and position drills to reinforce learning. I encourage students to think critically and understand why moves are made, not just what moves to play. This helps build strong strategic thinking and decision-making skills.
Typical Lesson Plan:
Quick review of previous concepts and homework
Introduction of new topic (openings, tactics, endgames, etc.)
Guided practice through puzzles and example games
Analysis of student’s own games for personalized feedback
Assign practice tasks to improve weaknesses
