Stephan has a thorough understanding of fundamental and advanced chemistry which tie in well with his familiarity of biology, physics, and the scientific method. He also has put in countless hours hosting chemistry labs and lectures for a diverse range of students which gives him valuable experience. He is very composed and thoughtful in delivering lectures - engaging with the audience to ensure important concepts are sticking. It is even more impressive to witness how well Stephan can cater his one-on-one communications skills to an individual as a mentor or professor. I often feel that Stephan can quickly pick up on a person’s preferred learning style in just a few short minutes. His presentation of educational material really shows that he has taught the subject to multiple audiences and continues to hone his skill to educate others.

If you chat with Stephan after one of his lectures, he will likely tell you about the highlight of his day being an interaction with a student where he was able to guide someone to a personal epiphany. He is visibly fulfilled through helping others learn and he is a master of his craft. Stephan’s patience combines with his positivity and ability to use different media to convey an idea; he delivers the message with such engagement and enthusiasm that he can really capture the excitement of learning something novel.

I took Stephan's lab TA class Chem 7L at UCSD. He was very knowledgeable and patient. With his help, I got an A in that class, and would always recommend him for any science content tutoring.
