About DR IRFAN
I am an enthusiastic academic who is eager to teach a variety of core and elective courses, with a particular interest in teaching Chemistry (at primary, secondary, GCSE, Advanced higher and undergraduate level) and Maths at secondary level. I completed my Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Tokyo Metropolitan University, Japan. I have a multidisciplinary research experience in the fields of Chemistry, Material Science and Physics. Currently, I am living in Glasgow however thanks to zoom I can help you wherever you are!

It is important that everyone gets to learn in an environment they feel most comfortable. I believe a step as simple as laying out lesson plans and expectations at the beginning of each class provides students a much deal of clarity and confidence about what they will be learning. I have worked closely with both undergraduate and postgraduate level students, as well as taught general chemistry and photochemistry as a doctoral student. From my experience in teaching, I have realised that creative teaching plans are equally important for a teacher in fostering an attitude of self-motivation and independent thinking in a school/graduate student.
