Open University students are largely self-taught, this means we have to develop effective study strategies in order to succeed. Studying at the Open University teaches students not only their subject but how to learn too. For this reason I feel that I am well suited to tutoring those who are not as far along on their academic journey. Although I am still a student I achieve good grades, last year I scored 92% in my second year chemistry exam and my coursework grades were consistently 80-90%. I am also confident teaching biology and environmental studies achieving an A* in each at A-level including a grade of 100% in my final biology exam. Maths is my weakest subject of those that I offer, I am very happy tutoring up to GCSE level. As I study a remote degree I am very flexible on my availability, I should be able to accommodate most times/days of the week. I am friendly and outgoing, teaching is always something that I’ve enjoyed and I look forward to meeting new students!
