About Marybeth
I taught high school Chemistry right out of college, then I taught General Chemistry and Biochemistry labs at Utah State University, and then started teaching entry level Chemistry at BYU-I for 19 years. I have loved getting to know my students and love it when they tell me that they have started to see Chemistry everywhere!

I try to break down hard topics into small enough pieces of information so that they may be understood. I want students to have fun while we learn Chemistry. I try to pull in lots of demonstrations to show chemical reactions and explain the concepts.

Perfect! I LOVED LEARNING FROM HER. She helped me in my high school chemistry 1 and 2 DE classes. She used her personal slides and videos to teach. She did the problems by hand and gave me a choice on what I wanted to focus on. She went as far as reteaching the entire section when I wasn’t comprehending anything in class. Without her tutoring, I fully believe I would have failed the class. She has continued to go out of her way even after our chemistry sessions by helping with the act, tutoring on zoom and sending me extra questions outside of zoom, and she was apart of helping me with physics honors. She is very kind and will work at your pace. She is one of the best teachers I have ever had and makes an effort to walk with you to success. I’m completely recommend trying her out, she will not disappoint. No problems ever, whatsoever. THANK YOU MRS. MARYBETH FOR YOUR HELP!

Perfect! Marybeth is really patient and kind. She is prepared to show you how to do specific problems you have struggled with, or provide a quick lesson to teach a topic in detail. She also give great tips for memorization. I learn a lot from her chemistry lessons!

Marybeth is the absolute best! She is so extremely knowledgeable in her field but also is so friendly and heart-warming. She can easily take complex ideas and break them down for you so you can understand better. If you think chemistry is scary, try again with Marybeth--she knows what she is doing!
Sister lemon is amazing! I truly felt like she wanted me to succeed. She offered one-on-one mentorship and made everybody in the class feel valued. She answered everyone's questions to the best of her knowledge with clear explanations. Definitely my favorite professor that I've ever had. Highly recommend taking her classes
I took Chemistry 101 from her in college. I failed it the first time I took it but when I took it with her I got an A.
She's very patient and has a gift for breaking down complex concepts into easy to understand pieces. She's also very energetic and engaging.Marybeth taught my General Chemistry class in college. Her teaching methods are fantastic. She makes Chemistry fun, interesting and easy to understand. She provides an excellent foundation to understand Chemistry then teaches you how to build your knowledge upon that foundation.
