I am a qualified Chemistry Postgraduate with a PhD in Chemistry and over 10 years of teaching and tutoring experience. I specialize in NCEA Chemistry and Mathematics (all levels, including Scholarship), helping students not only improve their grades but also gain the confidence to approach exams with clarity and focus. I believe that every student learns differently, so my tutoring approach is flexible and tailored to the individual. I focus on building strong foundations in conceptual understanding, followed by exam-focused practice to ensure students feel confident applying their knowledge under pressure. Techniques and Teaching Methodology I use a step-by-step teaching style, breaking down complex Chemistry and Math concepts into clear, manageable parts. I encourage students to ask questions freely, as this builds confidence and deeper understanding. Lessons include a mix of concept explanations, worked examples, past exam questions, and problem-solving strategies. I regularly provide short quizzes and feedback to track progress and adjust the teaching pace. Lesson Structure & Length Typical lessons are 60–90 minutes, depending on the student’s needs. Each session begins with a recap of previous content, followed by new material, worked examples, and practice questions. I finish each lesson with a summary and a quick check-in to make sure the student is confident before moving on. Qualifications & Experience PhD in Chemistry (Macquarie University, Sydney) and Postgraduate Certificate in Engineering (University of Auckland). Over 10 years of research and teaching experience in Chemistry and related fields. Former A-Level Chemistry teacher and experienced in tutoring NCEA Chemistry and Mathematics (all levels, including Scholarship). Who the Lessons Are For NCEA Levels 1–3 (Chemistry and Mathematics). Scholarship students preparing for advanced exams. High school students aiming to boost grades, build confidence, or prepare for university pathways.
