About Joseph
I'm a recent graduate of Cambridge University where I obtained a 2.i undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences (specialising in Chemistry) and a further MSc in Chemistry. I studied Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths in the first year so I have a deeper yet broad understanding of the major science disciplines.
At A-level I had 2 A*'s in Chemistry and Maths and 2 A's in Physics and Biology.
During my GCSE's, I obtained 6A*'s, 4A's and 2 distinctions with 4 A*'s for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Maths.

It is often necessary in science to use information from several disciplines in order to understand the problem at hand. For example, the binding of two protein molecules in solution is an incredibly important yet diverse biological phenomenon. Using chemistry to identify the groups responsible for these interactions and using physics to model the dynamic movement of the protein molecules, we can develop a deeper and more robust understanding of the process at hand. This is why, having studied Natural Sciences at university, my teaching involves solutions that culminates ideas from the major science disciplines to appropriately and effectively dissect the problem at hand.
A typical lesson would involve the student outlining their current knowledge of the subject, an explanation of any mis-understood material and a work-through of related questions. Initially, I would provide my own personal techniques and answers for exam questions but once the student built up confidence in that subject, I would provide less assistance until they felt entirely confident with the questions they're likely to face.
