About Leah
My journey in Chemistry began with fascination for the invisible rules that govern molecular behavior and reactions. I pursued an M.Sc in Physical Chemistry to deepen my understanding of theoretical concepts and practical applications. Over the past 10 years, I have guided students from diverse backgrounds, helping them navigate complex ideas through patient and structured instruction, transforming initial uncertainty into confident understanding. I believe teaching Chemistry requires patience, attentiveness, and adaptability. I spend time understanding each student’s thinking style and tailor explanations accordingly, using diagrams, analogies, and stepwise reasoning to clarify challenging concepts. Encouraging questions and treating mistakes as opportunities for learning is central to my teaching philosophy. Outside teaching, I actively engage with Chemistry through reading, experimentation, and exploring contemporary research. Witnessing students grow in confidence and mastery over complex topics is immensely rewarding. Helping learners see Chemistry as logical, approachable, and enjoyable is the aspect of my work that brings me the greatest satisfaction.

Chemistry can feel overwhelming if learners are not guided carefully through concepts in a clear, structured way. My lessons focus on explaining fundamental ideas such as atomic structure, bonding, reaction mechanisms, and energy transformations in a manner that builds understanding step by step. I emphasize reasoning over memorization, helping learners connect concepts logically and see the patterns that govern chemical behavior. Each lesson is designed to provide clarity, patience, and support, creating a safe space for curiosity and thoughtful questioning.
Lesson design adapts to the learner’s proficiency. Beginners focus on chemical symbols, formulas, and simple reactions using visual explanations and analogies. Intermediate learners develop skills in stoichiometry, periodic trends, acids and bases, and reaction types, guided by structured practice. Advanced learners explore equilibrium, thermodynamics, and kinetic principles, honing problem-solving strategies while reinforcing accuracy and understanding. Carefully chosen exercises are included to ensure steady reinforcement without overwhelming students.
Chemistry lessons also cultivate patience, precision, and analytical thinking. As students gain clarity, they feel more confident approaching scientific problems independently.
