My Teaching Method I aim to make math and science clear, understandable, and even fun. My goal is to build confidence by breaking big ideas into small, easy-to-follow steps. I am patient and encouraging, and I believe every student can succeed. My main techniques: Connecting to Real Life: I use examples from sports, video games, cooking, and the world around us to show how math, physics, and chemistry work everywhere. Hands-On Learning: Our time is for doing, not just listening. We solve problems, draw diagrams, and discuss concepts together. Celebrating Mistakes: Mistakes are just opportunities to learn. We figure out wrong answers together and discover the secrets behind them. A Typical Lesson Plan Each lesson is structured to be clear, engaging, and focused on one main goal: Warm-Up (5 mins): Quick review or fun question to get your brain ready. Main Idea (10 mins): Simple, clear explanation of the day’s topic (e.g., chemical reactions or balancing equations) with pictures and examples. Team Practice (20 mins): The most important part. We work through problems together on a shared digital whiteboard, step by step. Confidence Check (10 mins): You try a problem on your own while I guide you if needed. Wrap-Up (5 mins): Review what we learned and get a small practice problem to reinforce the lesson. Why I’m a Great Tutor for You I’m not just another teacher—I want to be the tutor who makes everything click. I Build Confidence: Celebrate every "aha!" moment. I Make It Relevant: Understand why you’re learning something, not just how. (Why does ice float? How do batteries work?) I’m Patient and Positive: I explain things as many times as needed, in different ways, until it makes sense. Who I Teach My lessons are ideal for: Grades: 7th, 8th, and 9th. Subjects: Math: Pre-Algebra, Algebra I Science: General Science, Introductory Physics (forces, motion), Introductory Chemistry (atoms, elements, basic reactions, periodic table) Specific Needs: Struggling to keep up, wanting to get ahead, or need help with homework and test prep - I tailor lessons to your goals.
