About Joseph
Howdy! I'm a UC Irvine alumnus who loves to teach others about STEM topics every chance I get. Throughout high school and college, I got to act as a tutor and teacher's assistant for classes ranging from AP Calculus to Elementary Algebra.
I tend to use diagrams and visuals to help build intuition and get students to recognize why something is true, and not just tell them that it is.

Most lessons will begin with an example of a real-world application to justify the topic. Using interactives, sketches, and computer animations, the intuition (or, what the math is doing behind the scenes) is explored. Usually, most of the confusion regarding certain math topics comes from skipping this step, so this is likely to be most of the time during our lessons. Finally, we'll work through examples of problems with varying difficulty to build up problem-solving workflows until you feel comfortable enough to try it yourself.
