About Erika
I bring the care and structure of a certified classroom teacher into every tutoring session, creating a space where students feel supported, capable, and confident. With experience in elementary education and TESOL, I’ve worked with a wide range of learners, including English Language Learners and adults building English literacy skills.

For reading, I focus on deep comprehension—helping students think critically about texts. For writing, I emphasize organization, clarity, and voice. With English Language Learners and adult ESL students, I intentionally integrate vocabulary, language development, and real-world application to build both accuracy and confidence.
Typical Lesson Plan:
Each session begins with a focused warm-up to activate prior knowledge, followed by targeted instruction on a key skill. I then guide students through practice with support before gradually releasing responsibility so they can apply the skill independently. I consistently check for understanding and adjust in real time, ensuring that each session is productive and purposeful.
