About Crystal
I am a certified OCT teacher with over 10 years of experience supporting students in Grades 7 to 12, with a strong focus on English and Language Arts. I have extensive experience helping students improve their reading comprehension, writing skills, and overall literacy.
I am committed to creating a professional, supportive, and engaging learning environment where students feel confident and capable. I take a student-centered approach and tailor my instruction to meet individual needs, including supporting diverse learners and students with IEPs.
My goal is to help students strengthen their literacy skills, build confidence in their abilities, and develop the tools they need to succeed in both school and beyond

My lessons are structured, engaging, and focused on building strong reading and writing skills. I support students in developing reading comprehension, essay writing, grammar, vocabulary, and critical thinking, while helping them become more confident and effective communicators.
Each session typically includes a quick check in, guided instruction, and focused practice. I work with students on organizing ideas, analyzing texts, and expressing their thoughts clearly in both written and verbal form. I also provide feedback and strategies that help students improve their work and build independence over time.
What sets me apart is my ability to break down writing tasks into clear, manageable steps and provide targeted support based on each student’s needs. I create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, taking risks, and growing as readers and writers.
