About Whitney
I have 19 years of working with middle school students specifically. I try to make a connection with every student I work with in order to build trust and understand what makes that individual student learn best. I am patient and understanding of students exhibiting difficulties or challenges in mathematics and work to use a multitude of strategies to make the information relevant and easy to understand.

The focus of my lessons is to guide a child through highlighting and utilizing what they already know to make sense and build connections to what they are attempting to learn. Children need to learn to view mathematics as a connected web of skills in order to understand mathematics as an entire system.
