About Yui
I’m a friendly, passionate, and certified Japanese teacher who has taught and loves helping students from diverse backgrounds. Because I’ve learned several languages myself (English, Spanish, Korean, etc.), I truly understand both the challenges and the joys of language learning. If needed, I can also support you using your native language to help you understand Japanese more clearly. (Note: my most fluent language is English, followed by Spanish, which I am still learning) I previously worked as a Japanese teaching assistant at a university in the U.S. for one year, where I also tutored students outside of class. In addition, I’ve taught English to children from elementary to high school, and I’ve taught Japanese to learners from Korea, China, Vietnam, France, Mexico, and more. I also worked as an English counselor, analyzing clients’ weaknesses and giving personalized study advice. From my experience, the fastest way to improve is by SPEAKING! That’s why my lessons are conversation-focused, helping you build real confidence in everyday Japanese. Of course, grammar, nuances, and cultural context are essential too. I will tailor each lesson to your level, goals, and interests so you can get the most out of every session. I believe that "enjoying the process leads to faster progress", so I always create a comfortable and fun learning environment. If you like, we can talk about topics you enjoy—sports, anime, work, fashion, culture, anything! And if you prefer using your textbook, I’m happy to incorporate it as well. I have mainly taught students who have various backgrounds, but I can also teach people who need Japanese for Business, JLPT test, and hobby :)
