About Lauren
Hi! I am a certified grades 7-12 English teacher. I work with non-traditional texts - I like to make English fun and enjoyable, even for reluctant readers! My academic focus is American Literature and the genres of mythology, fantasy, sci-fi, and gothic literature. I have been teaching for over 6 years now and love what I do. My lessons work best for grades 9-12, at all levels of work, including Honors and ECE. I also specialize with MLA formatted research papers and citations if that's what you need. College students may also reach out for assistance. I have previously worked on undergraduate literature courses as a TA; I also have a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction and 18 credits in graduate-level literature work.
I am one to work one-on-one and give you the direct feedback you need. I also try and make grammar seem less rote - and less like the grammar textbooks from elementary. Whatever you need, let me know!
