About Scott
An effective instructor will show to students how mathematics will touch the lives of our future leaders. We live in a data-driven world. Mathematics and Statistics is how data can be explained, interpreted, or conveyed when an idea of improving existing working conditions is suggested. Students need to have confidence in their understanding and use of the material being taught in their chosen working field. I want my students to leave my classroom by being able to think critically and understand how to apply pattern recognition in their chosen working environment.

An effective instructor finds productive teaching methods so each student may be successful. Mathematics is about patterns and pattern recognition. My delivery methods tend to be discovery styled in nature while including auditory, visual and kinesthetic components to include different learning styles. In the classroom I
use mathematically sound, student approved techniques for understanding when material is first being introduced. It is important to find statements or phrases that students understand when sharing a new topic. Productive teaching methods will build confidence in the student that they can be successful in the understanding of the material taught.
