About Bethany
My name is Bethany and I'm a current certified upper elementary ELA teacher. I've been working with kids for the last 12 years. I help students understand expectations clearly and approach academic tasks step by step, in ways that they can understand, without the guesswork.
I have a great deal of experience in working with neurodivergent students and have seen success in bringing students up to grade level. I specialize in upper elementary reading but I can help students who struggle with foundational reading skills as well.

I'm a certified elementary ELA teacher with 5 years of classroom experience supporting reading comprehension, writing, phonics, and grammar. I focus on helping students understand what a task is asking and how to approach it step by step, rather than guessing or rushing.
My sessions are structured and calm. I work with the student and their parents to identify problem areas and begin to work by modeling skills clearly, guided practice and providing specific feedback that students can actually use. I break complex work into manageable pieces so that learning feels doable, not stressful.
I work best with elementary and middle school children who struggle with reading, comprehension and writing. I'm patient, detail oriented, problem solving and focused on real progress. I celebrate growth and push my students to go beyond what they ever thought possible of themselves in the process.
