About Jaqueline
I have extensive experience teaching Portuguese as a heritage language, working with children and teens growing up outside Brazil, as well as teaching Portuguese for foreigners of different ages and proficiency levels.
In addition, I have over 10 years of teaching experience and hold a degree in Portuguese Language and Literature. I also completed a postgraduate specialization in Literacy Practices, with a focus on Critical Racial Literacy and Indigenous Literatures.
As a Brazilian educator living abroad, I understand the challenges of multilingualism and maintaining a cultural connection with various backgrounds.
I am passionate about sharing my language and culture with learners around the world.

My lessons are personalized, dynamic, and student-centered. I believe language learning should feel meaningful, practical, and connected to real life, not just memorizing rules. My approach combines structure with flexibility, so students feel supported while also challenged to grow. Grammar is taught in context, always connected to real situations. I incorporate authentic materials (videos, music, short texts, news, cultural references), interactive activities, and digital tools to keep lessons engaging.
For adults, I tailor content to their personal or professional goals (travel, conversation, academic, business, etc.).
For heritage learners and children, I integrate literacy development, storytelling, and cultural identity into the lessons.
