About Keethu

I graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Computer Science and a 3.5 GPA. Alongside my studies, I worked as a Behavioral Technician providing one-on-one therapy to children with autism and developmental differences, including nonverbal clients and infants. I recently earned my BCAT certification and have hands-on experience implementing behavior intervention plans and working with kids across a wide range of ages and needs.
Working closely with kids who have a range of communication styles has made me a patient and adaptable person, which carries over directly into tutoring. I am used to figuring out how someone learns best and adjusting from there rather than sticking to a rigid method. I also conduct research at WPI and write regularly at a college level, so I have a strong grasp of English reading and writing beyond just the basics.

About the lesson

My lessons are tailored to each student depending on where they are starting from. For younger kids or those who are just building their reading foundation, I focus on phonics, sight words, and comprehension in a way that feels more like play than work. For older students, I work on reading fluency, vocabulary, and understanding what they are reading rather than just getting through the words.
My background as a behavioral technician means I have a lot of experience working with kids who learn differently or need more patience and repetition, so I am comfortable adjusting my approach on the fly. I also write at a college research level, so for teens working on analytical reading or essay based English assignments I can help there too.
Sessions are relaxed and I try to figure out what actually motivates each student rather than using a one size fits all approach. I am happy to work around school assignments and goals or just focus on building general skills if that is what is needed.
