About Alex
I am an optimistic, passionate and unwaveringly positive person, who aspires to help my students achieve success. For the last year, I have been taking independent action to become a full-time ESOL teacher. I discovered my passion for teaching after completing an online TEFL course, which I used to secure a voluntary position at Leeds Refugee Centre. I haven't looked back since, promoting a person-centred approach that has allowed me to form strong bonds with my students and foster a culture of excellence and care in my classroom.

I plan and deliver engaging, learner-centred lessons that focus on developing practical communication skills and authentic language use. I have taught multilingual classes to A1-B2 level adult students (16+) at a local refugee centre for over a year. I have completed various ESOL qualifications such as a CELTA (Pass A) and Level 5 TEFL Diploma (Distinction). My lessons typically range from 45 to 90 minutes.
