About Linda
Hi, I'm Linda.
I'm a CELTA-qualified English teacher with 28 years of teaching experience and nine years of life and work experience in London.
I'm originally from Germany, but English has been part of my professional and personal life for decades. I use it every day as a teacher, translator and proofreader, and I know first-hand what it takes to learn a language until it feels natural rather than translated in your head.
I've taught children, teenagers, adults and professionals in Germany, Costa Rica and the UK, from complete beginners to advanced learners. My experience includes private tuition, language schools and corporate training for clients including Google, Facebook, Penguin Books and Red Bull.
Because I've learned languages myself, I'm very aware of the difference between knowing English and actually feeling comfortable using it. I'm patient, precise and very good at identifying the small changes that can make somebody sound clearer, more natural and more confident.
I teach practical English that you can actually use - whether you need it for work, study, travel, exams or everyday life.

Do you understand English quite well, but still hesitate when you have to speak?
Or perhaps your English is already strong, but you want to sound more natural, more precise or more professional.
My lessons are practical and built around what you actually need English for. We can work on:
• speaking more confidently and naturally
• professional and workplace English
• meetings, presentations and interviews
• grammar and vocabulary
• pronunciation
• writing and proofreading
• exam preparation
• everyday English and conversation
• moving from intermediate English towards real fluency
I don't believe in following the same textbook programme with every student. Your lessons are adapted to your level, your goals and the situations in which you actually use English.
Because I also work professionally as a translator and proofreader, I'm particularly good at noticing the small details - the wording that is technically correct but doesn't sound natural, the grammar mistake you make repeatedly, or the phrase that could be clearer and more confident.
We'll work on accuracy, but also on making English feel easier to use spontaneously.
