About Sofia
I am a bilingual Canadian currently living in Paris, where teaching French has become a real passion. My background in the language goes back to high school, where I completed a Bilingual Diploma and the National French Diploma (Brevet), followed by an immersive program in Québec and years of tutoring through university.
What I hear from students most often is that having a tutor who learned French as an English speaker makes a real difference. I know the parts that feel confusing because I worked through them too. Each student I work with gets a diagnostic in our first session and a personalized workbook that grows with them over time. From elementary school students to adults I create a learning environment that is encouraging, adaptive and practical.

My teaching adapts to you. I start by understanding your goals and pinpointing where you need the most support, then build lessons around that. Grammar, pronunciation, conversation, exam prep (DELF/DALF), whatever it is, I break it down clearly and make sure it sticks. Each student gets a personalized Google Docs workbook updated every session so progress is always visible.

Perfect! Sofia is a fantastic French tutor who is always well prepared for every lesson. She creates personalized learning materials and homework in advance, then takes the time to thoroughly review my answers and provide detailed feedback. Every lesson is thoughtfully planned, and her organized approach has given me a clear roadmap for my language learning. Since I had not studied French for many years before taking lessons again recently, Sofia has taken the time to identify and fill in the gaps in my knowledge rather than simply moving through new material. Her personalized approach and clear plan for my progress have made me feel much more confident in my learning. Sofia is very personable and made learning from her so fun and easy to understand. She's an excellent tutor and was extremely patient with me and my French skills. I loved that she catered to what I was focusing on improving but also had a structure in case I didn't know what to practice next. I'd recommend her to anybody because she's so kind and good at what she does!
Sofia was my French tutor and I had an incredible experience as she was patient, knowledgeable, and made lessons engaging and tailored to my learning style.
