About SARA
My favorite subject in school was Spanish. Coming from a Spanish-speaking country, this means I was studying literature, grammar, and writing in Spanish.
In college I discovered my love for linguistics and grammar. My degree was in the Spanish language, Hispanic literature, and linguistics. Therefore I am specialized in the content more than education. I then went to school to earn a teaching certificate as well.
As I have been an educator for over 20 years, I have mastered teaching as well. I have worked with all ages and with a wide variety of students. I have learned so much working with native speakers, Spanish language learners, students with ADHD, gifted and talented students, and students who are forced to take a language course but don't necessarily have interest in it. I love seeing all styles of learners flourish in their Spanish journey.
With my experience I have acquired a holistic approach in which my students wellbeing is crucial, connections are vital, and a sense of pride in their education is cultivated.

When I teach or tutor, I get to know my students learning style. Your strengths, weaknesses, and interests will be my focus. I would start a lesson learning what your needs and goals are. By connecting what you know with what your learning goal is, we can skyrocket your knowledge and skills.
I love teaching children, adolescents, and adults. I have taught higher level Spanish lessons in which grammar, literature, and linguistics are at the center. I have also taught younger children where playing, music, and fun are integrated. When I work with adolescents I love to see the enthusiasm they have about mastering new skills and ways to communicate.
