About Charlie
I started tutoring after my degree knowing I would enjoy it and I have enjoyed it even more than I expected. In my peers and now in my students I have feedback that I explain things clearly, and I’ve also been told that I often have a different way of thinking about problems that helps students that might not understand the usual explanation.
I have discovered a love for teaching the syllabus too. I find it immensely fulfilling to have students long enough that topics I have taught previously to them have helped them in a new topic.

I have experience both teaching syllabus and marking & giving feedback on tests to prepare for exams.
I have been teaching the KS3 syllabus to a young student and challenging them with some of the hardest questions in the topic making sure they can handle any question that they come across with confidence.
I have taught a student uni-level group theory when they were struggling to understand it in their course, leading them to be much more confident in applying it and so understanding why the rules and theorems work as they do.
I also have experience going through past papers particularly with GCSE and A-level students, helping them prepare for exams particularly by finding topics which they are not so sure of and filling in those gaps in their understanding.
I also have experience preparing students for the UKMT maths challenges, which is a fantastic way to help students improve problem-solving skills in a way that I have always seen them enjoy
