About Shushen
About Me
Hi there! I’m Shushen, a Cambridge University graduate and a practising Environmental Designer and Sustainability Consultant based here in London. My academic and professional journey has always been driven by a deep fascination with how we can use engineering and mathematical principles to solve complex, real-world problems.
My Background
I have spent years rigorously training in the fields of engineering, architecture, and environmental sustainability:
University of Cambridge: Completed my M.Phil. in Architecture and Urban Studies with Distinction (Ranking 2nd in my cohort).
University of Nottingham: Earned my B.Eng. (Hons) in Architectural Environment Engineering with First Class Honours, graduating Rank 1 out of 70 students.
Industry Expertise: I currently work at a top sustainability consultancy in London, specialising in net-zero strategies, advanced building simulations, fluid dynamics (CFD), and life-cycle carbon assessments. I am also a certified BREEAM AP and WELL AP.
My Interests & Passion for Teaching
Beyond my day-to-day corporate work in decarbonisation, my biggest passion is academic mentorship. Having successfully navigated competitive UK admissions funnels and high-intensity STEM curricula myself, I know exactly where students typically get stuck.
I don't believe in the "grind past papers until you memorise them" approach. My goal is to bridge the gap between abstract textbook formulae and real-world application. Whether I am teaching A-Level Pure Mathematics, coaching undergraduates through Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics, or guiding applicants through Oxbridge/G5 personal statements and research proposals, I focus on building core logical intuition.
When I'm not working or teaching, you can usually find me researching urban climate resilience, reading up on human-centric design, or exploring London's architectural spaces. I look forward to helping you break through your academic bottlenecks and achieve your target grades!
